DMACC VanKirk Career Academy

Perry High School, in cooperation with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC),Perry DMACC is pleased to offer the DMACC at Perry VanKirk Career Academy. Students may be required to meet Senior Year Plus guidelines to be eligible for these programs. Participating students with passing grades will receive both high school and college credit at no cost to them and will learn valuable job skills along the way.  Any students wishing to participate in any of the career academies should contact their counselor.

Please note the following details regarding students enrolled in DMACC or other post- secondary classes:

• Final grades will appear on the students’ DMACC college transcript and high school transcript.  Grades may impact high school grade point average, class rank, scholarship and financial aid eligibility, and eligibility for extra curricular activities. 

• If a student drops a class after DMACC’s drop date the student will receive an F on their high school transcript and it will impact eligibility. 

• Please note DMACC drop dates may vary from the high school. Consult with a DMACC advisor for more information. 

OCCO Courses

OCCO (On- campus Course Options) courses are college courses taught at the college by a college instructor and include college students. Students may be required to meet Academic Performance Requirements and/or Senior Year Plus guidelines to be eligible for these programs.  Commonly students take classes through DMACC, but students are permissible to take classes from other colleges, as well.

OLCA Courses

OLCA (On-line Career Academy) courses are college courses taught online by a college instructor. Students may be required to meet Academic Performance Requirements and/or Senior Year Plus guidelines to be eligible for these programs.
